1 PURPOSE

1.1 For the purposes of this policy, the following terms shall have the following meanings:

a) “AELTC”: The All England Lawn Tennis Club (Championships) Limited and any group company; and

b) “User” means any individual user who has accessed or is accessing the AELTC network, whether through their log-on credentials or otherwise (including, without limitation, all media representatives, hospitality clients, contractors, players and player representatives).


2 SCOPE

2.1 This policy applies to all Users onsite at the Grounds of the AELTC. This policy can be enforced by the AELTC or those persons which the AELTC authorises to do so, on its behalf.

2.2 The AELTC may revise this policy at any time, and all Users are advised to check this page, http://www.wimbledon.com/en_GB/about_wimbledon/aeltc_network_acceptable_use_policy.html 

from time to time to take notice of any changes the AELTC makes as they are legally binding on each User.


3 SUMMARY

3.1 All Users may only use the AELTC network for lawful purposes. By accessing the AELTC network, each User agrees to observe the terms and conditions contained in this policy.

3.2 The AELTC blocks access to inappropriate websites including pornographic content and gambling websites. If at any point during a User’s time at the Grounds of the AELTC, a User finds that a legitimate website is being blocked, please contact the AELTC IT Service Desk by email to IThub@aeltc.com or on ext. 7272 or 020 3372 7272, so that they can understand the issue and see if the site is being blocked in error.

3.3 The use by a User of their own Wireless Access Point connected to the AELTC network is strictly prohibited. The AELTC reserves the right to restrict network access as it sees fit, to preserve the integrity of the AELTC network for all Users.

 


4 POLICY

4.1 General Use and Ownership
a) The AELTC cannot guarantee the confidentiality of information stored on any network device not belonging to the AELTC or that access to the AELTC network will be continuous and uninterrupted at all times. The AELTC will not be liable for any losses Users may incur through failure to access the AELTC network at any time.


b) Users are responsible for all activity taking place on the AELTC network through each User’s account, and are therefore advised to exercise good judgment regarding appropriate personal use at all times.


c) For security and network maintenance purposes and to ensure compliance with this policy or any other policies or requirements implemented by the AELTC (pursuant to a contract or otherwise), the AELTC reserves the right from time to time to audit networks and systems and to monitor equipment, systems and network traffic at any time, without prior notice.

4.2 Security and Proprietary Information
a) Users shall create secure passwords which should be changed regularly. Where applicable, it is recommended that Users keep passwords secure and don’t share network connectivity and logon credentials with any other Users. Users of the AELTC network facilities are responsible for the security of their local machine level passwords.


b) As a means of protecting the confidentiality of information stored on any network device, the AELTC recommends that all PCs, laptops and workstations have a password-protected screensaver with the automatic activation feature set at three minutes or less.


c) All computers that are connected to the AELTC network facilities shall be continually executing appropriately licensed virus-scanning software with the most current virus database.


d) To protect the integrity of the AELTC network, Users agree to use extreme caution when opening e-mail attachments, which may contain viruses, e-mail bombs, or Trojan horse code. Users agree to promptly report any suspicious emails to IThub@aeltc.com


4.3 Illegal and Unacceptable Use
a) Under no circumstances should anyone using the AELTC network engage in any activity that is illegal under local, national or international law.


b) Users are prohibited from using the AELTC network facility in a manner deemed unacceptable by the AELTC including, without limitation, the following categories of unacceptable use:
(i) Violations of the rights of any person or company protected by copyright, trade secret, patent or other intellectual property, or similar laws or regulations, including, but not limited to, the installation or distribution of "pirated" or other software products;
(ii) Use of peer to peer file sharing applications or any other application communicating as a peer or node in a distributed system;
(iii) Unauthorised copying of copyrighted material including, but not limited to, digitisation and distribution of photographs from magazines, books or other copyrighted sources (including copyrighted music and motion pictures);
(iv) Exporting software, technical information, encryption software or technology, in violation of international or regional export control laws;
(v) Introduction of malicious programmes into the network or server (e.g., viruses, worms, Trojan horses, email bombs, etc.);
(vi) Use of the AELTC network to actively engage in any gambling or pornographic material;
(vii) Effecting security breaches or disruptions of network communication, including, but not limited to, accessing data of which the User is not an intended recipient or logging into a server or account that a User is not expressly authorised to access. For the purposes of this section, "disruption" includes, but is not limited to, network sniffing, packet spoofing, denial of service, and forged routing information for malicious purposes;
(viii) Port scanning or security scanning (unless prior notification to the AELTC is made and approval is received);
(ix) Executing any form of network monitoring which will intercept data not intended for the media representative host;
(x) Circumventing User authentication or security of any host, network or account;
(xi) Interfering with, or denying service to, any media representative other than the User's host (for example, denial of service attack);
(xii) Using any programme/script/command, or sending messages of any kind, with the intent to interfere with, or disable, a User's terminal session (via any means, whether locally or via the Internet);
(xiii) providing information about the functionality of the AELTC network facility;
(xiv) Unauthorised use of another User’s account;
(xv) Sending unsolicited email messages, including the sending of "junk mail" or other advertising material to individuals who did not specifically request such material (email spam);
(xvi) Any form of harassment via email, telephone or paging, whether through language, frequency, or size of messages;
(xvii) Unauthorised use, or forging, of email header information;
(xviii) Solicitation of email for any other email address with the intent to harass or to collect replies;
(xix) Creating or forwarding "chain letters" or other "pyramid" schemes of any type;
(xx) Use of unsolicited email originating from within the AELTC network of other Internet service providers on behalf of, or to advertise, any service hosted by the AELTC;
(xxi) Posting the same or similar non-business-related messages to large numbers of Internet newsgroups (newsgroup spam); and
(xxii) Upload to, or download any material from, the AELTC network which does not comply with this policy or applicable law, including material contained on file sharing websites.


5 ENFORCEMENT

5.1 Any User found to have violated this policy may:

a) be removed from the Grounds of the AELTC or have their device suspended from the AELTC network facility (either temporarily or permanently);


b) receive a warning or take other action as may be reasonable in the circumstances;


c) have their personal information disclosed to such law enforcement authorities as the AELTC reasonably feels is necessary; and


d) be subject to legal proceedings for reimbursement of all costs on an indemnity basis (including administrative and legal costs) resulting from the breach or the AELTC’s enforcement of the same.

5.2 Without prejudice to any of the remedies listed above, the AELTC reserves the right to revoke any User’s Accreditation to The Championships.

5.3 By accessing the AELTC network, each User agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the AELTC from and against all liabilities (including costs, losses, damages, fines and expenses) incurred by the AELTC arising under or in connection with any breach of this policy by such User.

5.4 This policy is subject to English law and the jurisdiction of the English courts only.
