Owen Davidson and Billie Jean King beat Alex Metreveli and Olga Morozova in the semi-finals of the mixed doubles and then defeated Raul Ramirez and Janet Newberry in the final.The girls’ singles was won by Ann Kiyomura, who beat a 16-year-old Czechoslovak called Martina Navratilova in the final.
1984
In the gentlemen’s singles final, John McEnroe gained revenge for his defeat of two years earlier by comprehensively beating Jimmy Connors, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2. Great Britain’s Annabel Croft won the girls’ singles title, beating Elna Reinach of South Africa in the final.
1990
For the third successive year, Stefan Edberg and Boris Becker met in the final of the gentlemen’s singles. Edberg repeated his victory of 1988 by winning in five sets.
2001
Venus Williams retained her ladies’ singles title, beating Justine Henin in the final. In the gentlemen’s singles, Goran Ivanisevic and Tim Henman completed their rain-interrupted semi-final, Ivanisevic triumphing in five sets.
2007
In a repeat of the previous year’s final, Roger Federer beat Rafael Nadal to win his fifth consecutive gentlemen’s singles title. Great Britain’s Jamie Murray and Serbia’s Jelena Jankovic won the mixed doubles title, beating Jonas Bjorkman and Alicia Molik in the final.
2012
Roger Feder won his seventh gentlemen’s singles title, beating Great Britain’s Andy Murray in four sets in the final. Murray had been aiming to become the first British winner since Fred Perry in 1936.
